The opportunity
This is an opportunity to grow your career with a market-leading multi-national project management consultancy.
The bid manager supports the business by planning and managing the bid process and delivering tender responses in line with the company’s brand, position and processes.
Translates win strategies and business objectives into smart, compelling, consistent, customer-focused, error-free documents and presentations, project managing activity through department bid plans and escalating risk to bid leader/board where required.
To conduct market research, competitor analysis to develop win strategies and bid plans, train and coach members of the team, bring ideas and fresh thinking to the department and to identify opportunities and leads.
Project: Various projects to support the bids of the India business.
A bid writer will usually work under the supervision of a bid manager or bid coordinator and will assist them in developing a proposal structure. The role also requires either writing new content or reviewing and editing previously written content where necessary, working with other bid team members to produce written bid responses and presentation collateral in line with deadlines. The role won’t only involve writing content for use in the bid, but also presentations and all supporting documentation, ensuring a cohesive and consistent approach. The person will also serve as an independent Bid Manager on smaller or fewer complex bids.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing work winning bids for the business, using the internal resources available.
Working with multiple stakeholders to collate information.
Preparing bid plan for each new bid.
Assisting in the ideation of the bid framework and strategy.
Creating and developing new page layouts as per the market trend in line with Mace brand guidelines.
Entering data in our recruitment and BD database
Delivering completed written proposal responses to the proposal manager against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required.
Researching, writing and/or checking proposals.
Working with key members of the project team and the client organisation to obtain the information required to compile the bid (in the construction industry, members of the project team may include estimators, quantity surveyors, design managers and project managers).
Developing fee estimates as part of the proposals.
Responding to clients’ and other stakeholders’ queries before, during, and after the bid has been submitted
Maintaining and updating the bid pipeline and database on the Mace portal.
Developing graphics as and when required to make proposal writing effective and interesting.
About you
You have a relevant graduate degree. You are an advanced user of Adobe suite knowledge, especially in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other Creative Cloud. You have high attention to detail with excellent editing and proofing ability. You have knowledge of bid compilation and graphics. You have the capability of documents preparation. You have graphic design skills.
You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships, and provide support to strong, motivated teams. You have experience writing and proofreading bid content in a construction or consultancy background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
