The Credit Initiation SrSupervisor is an intermediate management level position responsible for providing full leadership and direction to a team of employees in an effort to assess the ability of individuals, companies and institutions to meet the demands of loans, agreements and extended obligations in coordination with the Operations – Services team.The overall objective of this role is to ensure financial threats to the company are minimized by determining the terms or level of credit that can be granted without undue risk.
Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a medium size group of Credit Initiation Specialists providing support for multiple products, ensuring goals are met
Serve as a backup Manager, resolve issues, troubleshoot discrepencies, and interpret procedures and policies
Interpret procedures and policies, and guide support staff in resolving complex problems
Provide input on staffing, training and development needs, and train and coach Credit Initiation Specialists
Evaluate subordinates’ performance and make recommendations for pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions
Solve problems through analyzing information, and by identifying and selecting solutions, utilizing acquired technical experience
Ensure the quality of tasks provided by self and others on team, provide advice or facilitation services, and oversee end results
Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of customer documentation and recorded information within computerized systems
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Would be responsible for underwriting of mortgage applications as per limits assigned by Risk
Maintaining TAT for file processing, ensuring work towards NIL error processing.
Ensuring that the team is always “Audit Ready” with close tracking of monthly MCA deliverables
Play a key role in integration of Chennai & Coimbatore file processing at Chennai hub
Training of Credit Officers for changes in policy and process criteria
Supervising work of Credit Officers including allocation of files, timely processing, problem resolution and setting priorities as per the business requirements
Personal discussion with clients either telephonically or visiting client’s business premises
Overall review of files and raising necessary deviations to Policy and high authorities as transaction demand
Monthly vendor related activities
Reporting various MISs and resolving queries raised in audit post booking of the file
Qualifications:
2-5 years of experience in a related role
Leadership experience preferred
Familiarity and understanding of financial industry preferred
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
MBA / CA shall be preferred
