The Deputy Director for Mental Health Services is responsible for providing oversight, clinical leadership and programmatic direction for all mental and behavioral health services provided at the Pecos Children’s Center. The Deputy Director will be responsible to assure the alignment of all services with the requirements of the Office of Refugee Resettlement’s Unaccompanied Children’s Program, the Endeavors Behavioral Management standards, and industry best practices for work with unaccompanied minors entering the United States.

Establish policies and procedures for the mental health department
Oversee the day to day operations of the mental health department, assuring 24-hour service
Represent the mental health functions of PCC with internal and external stakeholders, such as the PCC command staff, the PCC Multi-Disciplinary Team, external behavioral health hospitals, the Division of Health for Unaccompanied Children (DHUC), and other ORR program staff such as Federal Field Specialists.
Define, measure, and evaluate program performance data
Establish and manage a robust program of Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement in the department and all services
Identify and innovate new programs or service deliver methodologies to best meet the needs of minors in care
Provide direct supervision for departmental leadership – including Deputy Director(s) and Lead Clinical Counselors.
Manage staffing plans to assure that ORR required ratios of mental health clinicians to minors in care at PCC are maintained or exceeded at all times, serving as principle point of contact with subcontractors providing mental health staffing services
Develop and oversee a department-specific orientation and training program for new staff
Assure compliance with all ORR regulations and policies regarding required services to minors in care and qualifications of mental health staff
Support, uphold and embody Endeavors corporate
Support a culture of ongoing learning through training and development sessions both internal and external (virtual) for staff
Oversee and coordinate any personnel actions with on-site Human Resources
