Funding & Finance Technology

Finance and Funding Technology department at Morgan Stanley manages the funding for the firm while ensuring the firm has adequate liquidity for covering any liquidity risks. As a technology team, we build and own the products that are leveraged by Treasury for running stress simulations on firm positions across business units. We own multi-terabyte data warehouse and state of the art middle tier services that takes in the Firms global positions and processes through various Liquidity metrics calculation.

Job Profile

The CPRM Team is looking for a highly skilled, motivated, innovative Java/Scala developer with breadth and depth of technology skills to design, develop, and strategic counterparty risk and margin engine as well as other components within the Counterparty Risk Management space. This will require architecture and infrastructure expertise in addition to Java/Scala development. The role also requires expertise in database and data warehousing concepts, including good financial knowledge and background.

The candidate should be able to work well with the full life-cycle of the project from requirements analysis, design, development, rollout into production, as well as DevOps automation for continuous deployment.

The candidate will be involved but not limited to:

Adopting DevOps automation best practices to one of the largest and most critical data warehouse environments in the financial industry.
Address a broad range of other DevOps automation
Evolve strategy towards cloud-based architecture.
Working with a global team across multiple locations (New York, London, Budapest, and Mumbai).

QUALIFICATIONS
Skill Set

Relevant experience 8+ years
Strong proficiency with Java (Spring) and Scala
Some proficiency with Relational Databases such as Oracle, Sybase, or DB2, as well as Big Data repositories such as Hadoop
Experience with modern SDLC methodologies including Agile
Strong Written and Oral Communication skills

Skills Desired:

DevOps tooling automated change management
Familiar with UNIX/Linux application debugging
Familiar with automation scripts such as AutoSys, UNIX shell, Perl, or Python for DevOps automation
Computer Science or similar complexity analysis and computational optimization background
Experience with accounting and finance in the financial industry Experience with business reporting concepts, design, and data sciences
